About NZSSD

The New Zealand Society for the Study of Diabetes (NZSSD) is the leading diabetes clinical network in New Zealand and the national advisory body on diabetes clinical and scientific matters.

The NZSSD membership comprises disciplines involved in diabetes integrated care and services across the lifespan including diabetes specialist physicians, nurse practitioners, specialist diabetes nurses, podiatrists, dietitians; and ophthalmologists, general physicians, primary health care clinicians, community health workers and allied industries.

The NZSSD collaborates with Diabetes New Zealand for consumer perspectives.The NZSSD's primary objectives are to promote the study of diabetes and the best standards of care of diabetes in New Zealand.

Our Goals

To promote the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in diabetes.
To promote interest in, and improve the clinical practice of, diabetes.
To promote basic and clinical research into diabetes.
To hold scientific meetings annually.

Membership

Financial membership of the NZSSD permits reduced fee access to all meetings, awards, additional national and international information, and a quarterly Newsletter.

6 months financial membership is required to access travel grants to the ASM and 12 months financial membership is required for professional development awards.

Our membership year runs 1 April to 31 March, with no discount for part-years.
